The basic machine for manual production of heat exchangers comprises a rotational indeed unit and a bending unit. The pipe is inserted into the machine from behind and transported to the bending unit with the 14 indeed rolls. There, the pipe is shaped as programmed by 5 bending rolls. Roll alignment is implemented to support the pipe (the fi rst 2 rolls) and the spiralling process can be applied clockwise and counter-clockwise (2 bending rolls with fi xed radius. The fi fth roll is used for bending off and for specifi cation of the heat exchanger diameter. The inclination is usually indicated by the rotational unit but can also be placed precisely using a special inclination roll.
For more complex geometries, the bending unit is expanded by two additional axes. The inclination and diameter rolls can verify the inclinations and diameters of every single coil for correction during bending. This measuring station is unique on the market!
The Rosenberger roll bending machine can, of course, also be used partially/fully automated in different versions. The bending machine can be additionally applied with a pipe hopper to feed in pipes at a fi xed length.
To reduce cut-offs, a welding station can be integrated between the pipe hopper and the roll bending machine to connect the pipe ends and produce an endless pipe. An additional chipping or chip-free pipe separating station can be installed at the roll bending machine front to separate the heat exchanger from the endless pipe. This is where the transverse welding seams are automatically removed if they are located in the spiral bends.
Optionally, the system can be automated further after pipe spiralling. This is done when the heat exchanger exits cannot be produced on the roll bending machine for geometric reasons. In this case, stations like robot, rotation-drawing bending machines or other production processes like thread rolls or pipe end shaping are added.
The fi nished heat exchangers are ejected via a transport belt.
